כְּאַיָל תַּעֲרֹג על־אֲפִיקֵי־מָיִם כֵּן נַפְשִׁי תַּעֲרֹג אֵלֶיךָ
Like a doe crying for water, my soul yearns for You (Psalms 42:1)
One way to nurture the sacred aspects of life and to affirm and deepen one’s spiritual life is through Spiritual Direction. Also known as Spiritual Companioning, this is a practice in which one person accompanies another in the discovery of the presence of the Divine and in deepening the holy dimensions of life.
In Spiritual Direction I will work with you and help you explore your relationship to the holy, clarify meaning and purpose in your daily life, and strengthen your connection to Presence.
My intention is to be deeply attentive, and completely open-hearted with you as you share thoughts, feelings, and intuitions about your experience. I serve much like a trail guide, gently pointing out both the hidden and the obvious on the path, inviting reflection on what you notice and perceive, and encouraging discernment as to where this path might lead. Our sessions will include opportunities for silence and contemplation, and inquiry into how these reflections are experienced in the body, heart, mind, and soul. When appropriate, I offer stories and teachings from Jewish wisdom. No formal belief about God is required; all one needs is an inquisitiveness and openness to exploring an inner life of spirit.
How it Works
Sessions will be once a month for one hour. Payment is on a sliding scale of $72-$126 per session. I offer one free consultation for you to see if Spiritual Direction will be meaningful for you.
Design Your Own Group
Spiritual Direction can also be a meaningful experience for a group. Groups are usually 4-8 people, and meet once a month for 90 minutes. Groups can be comprised of family members, friends, synagogue members, or even strangers. If you have an idea for a group with whom to explore life through a spiritual lens, please contact me.
